Year Two Crowned Champions at the 4th EQUSaT Sports Gala

The 4th Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) Sports Gala concluded on 22nd November with Year Two emerging as the champions after a week of spirited competition and outstanding athletic performance.

The gala, which kicked off on a week ago, brought together students from Year One, Year Two, and Year Three, Year Four and Year Five, to compete in a wide range of games that tested their endurance, teamwork, and determination. Events included football, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, tug of war, sack racing, egg racing, and the bottle-filling challenge.

Throughout the week, the sports grounds were filled with vibrant energy as students cheered relentlessly for their teams. The atmosphere was marked by unity, excitement, and healthy rivalry, making the event one of the most memorable editions yet.

Year Two dominated across the board, displaying remarkable consistency and team spirit that saw them excel in nearly all categories. Their stellar performance secured them the top position, earning them the grand prize - a goat, presented as a symbol of triumph and class pride. Year Three followed as first runners-up, while Year One settled for second runners-up after strong performances in selected events.

The closing ceremony was officiated by the Vice Chancellor and the Campus Manager, who commended the students for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Outstanding athletes received special awards, alongside certificates of participation for all teams that took part in the gala.
