Masaka, July 11, 2024 — The Vice Chancellor of Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT), Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, took part in a national television talk show dedicated to exploring ways of achieving quality in higher education institutions.
In his presentation, Prof. Mpezamihigo emphasized the need to transform Uganda’s education system by prioritizing resource allocation, efficient management practices, and policies that promote both academic excellence and institutional sustainability. He highlighted strategies that universities can adopt to ensure students receive holistic and competitive education.
The one-hour program also featured other prominent educationists, including Prof. Elly Katunguka, Vice Chancellor of Kyambogo University, and Dr. Lawrence Muganga, Vice Chancellor of Victoria University. Together, the panelists exchanged insights on the challenges and opportunities facing Uganda’s higher education sector, offering practical recommendations for reform and innovation.

This initiative supported SDG 4 (Quality Education) by focusing on higher education excellence, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through discussions on sustainable educational systems, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering dialogue among leaders of different institutions.
