October 12, 2024 — The Vice Chancellor of Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT), Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, featured on a national television talk show to discuss the state of quality education in Uganda.
In his presentation, Prof. Mpezamihigo emphasized the importance of benchmarking with other African countries and beyond as a way to strengthen higher education standards in Uganda. He also shared practical insights on how universities can adopt best practices to achieve excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement.
The talk show provided a platform for education stakeholders and the general public to reflect on ways of ensuring that Uganda’s higher education sector remains competitive and impactful.
Contribution to SDGs
This initiative supported SDG 4 (Quality Education) by highlighting strategies for improving standards in higher education, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by encouraging cross-border benchmarking and collaboration.
