EQUSaT Vice Chancellor Attends National Consultation on Work Readiness Course

October 18, 2024 — The Vice Chancellor of Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT), Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, participated in a national consultation meeting at the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) focused on introducing a work readiness course for universities and tertiary institutions.

The consultation was convened in response to national concerns regarding the quality of employees entering the job market in Uganda. The proposed work readiness course aims to equip students with skills that align with current global employment trends, bridging the gap between academic training and industry needs.

Prof. Mpezamihigo’s engagement reflected EQUSaT’s commitment to producing graduates who are competitive, skilled, and prepared for the modern workforce.

Contribution to SDGs

The initiative contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing curriculum relevance, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by preparing employable graduates, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration between universities, government, and industry stakeholders.
