EQUSaT Vice Chancellor Attends 6th Vice Chancellors Forum in Morocco

The Vice Chancellor of Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT), Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, represented Uganda at the 6th Vice Chancellors Forum of Universities in the Islamic World held in Rabat, Morocco, from 24th to 25th June 2025.

The forum brought together academic leaders from across the Islamic world to discuss on the future of higher education in an era marked by rapid technological advancement and global challenges.

In his address, Prof. Mpezamihigo emphasized the urgent need for universities to retool their human resources and upgrade their technological infrastructure. He noted that doing so would better position institutions to effectively respond to the evolving needs of both staff and students.

“Our institutions must be agile, responsive, and technologically empowered to deliver relevant education and research solutions. Retooling human resources and investing in advanced technologies are not optional, they are essential,” he stated.

The forum served as a platform for sharing experiences, fostering collaborations, and promoting innovation-driven development across universities in the Islamic world. Prof. Mpezamihigo’s participation shows EQUSaT’s growing commitment to global engagement,  academic excellence and adherence to Sustainable Development Goal 17.
