EQUSaT Students Play Friendly Match with Habib Medical Students Association in Kampala

Kampala, July 21, 2024 — Students of Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) engaged in a friendly football match with the Habib Medical Students Association in Kampala, an event aimed at promoting sportsmanship, unity, and future collaboration between the two institutions.

The match served not only as a recreational activity but also as a platform for students to interact and build networks. Through these connections, EQUSaT students successfully lobbied to host the Federation of Uganda Medical Students’ Association (FUMSA) General Assembly the following year—an achievement that underscores the value of such engagements beyond the pitch.

The initiative highlighted EQUSaT’s commitment to using sports as a unifying tool, fostering collaboration with other universities, and creating opportunities for its students at both national and institutional levels.

Contribution to SDGs

The football engagement contributed to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by encouraging physical activity, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through extracurricular learning experiences, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by promoting inclusivity and unity, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening ties with IUIU and national student associations.
