EQUSaT Students Hold Outing, Engage in Sports and Recreational Activities

Masaka, July 13, 2024 — Students of Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) held a special outing that combined sports, leisure, and exploration of different parts of Uganda, in a bid to promote togetherness and create memorable experiences beyond the classroom.

As part of the day’s activities, the students played a friendly football match with Biharwe Football Club, a Big League team that competes in Uganda’s second-tier national football league. The match created excitement and fostered teamwork between the students and the professional club.

In addition, students participated in a wide range of recreational activities including horse riding, board games, swimming, and other fun-filled games. The outing not only provided relaxation but also strengthened bonds among students while encouraging physical fitness and social interaction.

Contribution to SDGs

The student outing aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting sports and recreation, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through experiential learning beyond the classroom, and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by fostering inclusivity and teamwork among students. It also reflected SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through student-led initiatives that build harmony and engagement.
