EQUSaT Signs MoU with Build Your Smile Dental Foundation Uganda to Promote Dental Health in Greater Masaka
Masaka, September 16, 2024 — Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Build Your Smile Dental Foundation Uganda (BYSDFU) to promote and improve dental health across the Greater Masaka Region.
The agreement was officially signed by Prof. Muhamad Mpezamihigo, Vice Chancellor of EQUSaT, and Mr. Tumusiingize Innocent, representing BYSDFU. The partnership is aimed at enhancing community dental health awareness, providing outreach services, and strengthening academic and professional collaborations in dentistry.
Following the signing, the collaboration gave rise to a Mega Dental Camp held in March 2025, which benefited hundreds of residents in Masaka and surrounding areas. The MoU also positioned EQUSaT to establish strong links with the Uganda Dental Association, further boosting its role in dental education and public health promotion.

This partnership directly advances SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by improving access to dental services, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through joint academic initiatives, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration with national and international stakeholders.
