EQUSaT Hosts Regional Student Leadership and Politics Forum

Masaka, December 3, 2024 — Students from universities across the Greater Masaka Region convened at Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) for a forum on national politics and leadership development.

 

The event featured participation from the then interim Guild President, H.E. Guma Nicolas Claus, and was graced by Hon. Judith Nabakooba, Minister for Land, Housing, and Urban Development.

 

During the forum, students engaged in discussions on responsible leadership, political engagement, and sustainable leadership practices, gaining practical insights on how to lead ethically and effectively within their institutions and communities.

 

The gathering strengthened regional student networks while promoting civic awareness, accountability, and leadership skills among the youth.

 

Contribution to SDGs

The forum supported SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing leadership and civic education, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by fostering responsible leadership, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among students, government officials, and university authorities.
