EQUSaT Hosts Free Dental Camp with Experts from Pakistan and Uganda

Masaka, September 25 – October 4, 2024 — Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT), in partnership with dental experts from Pakistan and Uganda, organized a free community dental camp that significantly impacted oral health in the Greater Masaka Region.

The camp was spearheaded by Dr. Bader Saeed, a Pakistani dental surgeon affiliated with Punjab Dental Professionals in Lahore, alongside a dedicated team of Ugandan dental experts.

Over the course of the camp, more than 100 community members received free dental services, ranging from treatment to health education, all aimed at promoting better oral hygiene and preventing common dental diseases.

This initiative not only enhanced community health but also demonstrated EQUSaT’s commitment to service beyond the classroom, fostering global partnerships that directly benefit local communities.

Contribution to SDGs

The dental camp directly supported SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by improving access to essential health services, as well as SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening international collaborations for community development.
