EQUSaT Hosts Expert Session on Dentistry and Global Trends

Masaka, September 16, 2024 — Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT), in collaboration with the Build Your Smile Dental Foundation (BYSDF), organized a high-level education session focusing on dentistry in Uganda in comparison to global trends.

 

The session aimed at equipping students with knowledge on keeping pace with international dental practices, with emphasis on research, innovation, and partnerships as key drivers for progress in the sector.

 

Keynote speaker Dr. Kwizera Godfrey, a distinguished dental surgeon, together with other experts, guided students through discussions on best practices and opportunities for Ugandan dentistry to align with global standards.

 

Students welcomed the session as a timely and practical exposure, noting that it broadened their understanding of how dentistry in Uganda can adapt to the rapidly evolving global landscape.

 

Contribution to SDGs

The event advanced SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting quality health education, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through exposure to global best practices, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration with BYSDF and dental professionals.
