EQUSaT avails flexible model of learning to Local Government Staff

EQUSaT VC Prof. Mouhamad and his team have embarked on a field exercise to sensitize health workers in the Greater Masaka region about available study opportunities at Equator University of Science and Technology. The focus is to attain a degree of Bachelors of Science in Public Health for health workers in the region. The effort is to enhance capacity of the workers while they keep working. EQUSaT will offer the program on weekend, blended (physical and online), and those who will apply to join will receive a 30% tuition waver.

Prof. Mouhamad Mpezamihigo, the Academic Registrar, Ms. Tusiime Olive, Head of Public and Community Health, Mr. Igga Ibrahim and other staff visited Lyantonde District Local Government and Lyantonde District Hospitals where they met teams of health workers. There was excitement at this offer and many are in high gear to take up the offer. This same effort will spread to the districts of Rakai, Lwengo, Sembabule, Bukomansimbi, Kalungu, Masaka, Kyotera and other neighboring districts.

The visit was productive and memorable, fostering stronger relationships between EQUSaT and key stakeholders in the health sector.

He extended an open invitation for them to visit the university’s campus for a guided tour and further familiarization.
