EQUSaT Attends the Vice Chancellors’ Tax Symposium in Kampala

Equator University of Science and Technology (EQUSaT) was ably represented at the Vice Chancellors’ Tax Symposium held on October 23, 2024, at Mestil Hotel in Kampala. The event, organized by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), brought together university leaders, finance experts, and policymakers to deliberate on taxation issues affecting higher education institutions in Uganda.

Ms. Kyomugisha Winfred, from EQUSaT’s Accounts Department, represented the university at the symposium. Her participation underscored EQUSaT’s commitment to financial transparency, effective compliance with national tax regulations, and active engagement in sector-wide policy discussions.

The symposium provided a platform for sharing insights on how universities can strengthen their financial management systems, improve accountability, and align their operations with evolving tax frameworks. Key discussions focused on tax exemptions, financial reporting, and institutional sustainability in the education sector.
